一，other

Other 是不定代词，不能在句子中单独使用（除固定短语each other），一般在左边有the，或者others，或者右边有名词。

二，the other(s) 两者中剩下的，另外的

I have two sisters. One is a teacher, and the other is a nurse.我有两个姐姐。一个是老师，另一个是护士。
He carried a bag of apples in one hand, and a big fish in the other hand.他一只手拿着一袋苹果，另一种手拿着一条鱼。
I have four books in my bag. One is an English book, and the others are Chinese books.我包里有四本书。一本是英语书，其它的是语文书。
Tom and I are good friends. We help each other. 我和汤姆是好朋友，我们相互协助。（两者）

三，others 其它的人或物，没有数字范围

Many students are in the classroom. Some are cleaning the desks. Some are sweeping the floor. Others are doing homework.许多学生在教室里，一些在擦桌子，一些在扫地，其他同学在做作业。
Different people have different hobbies. Some people like English, while others like Chinese.不同的人有不同的爱好。有些人喜爱英语，而其他人喜爱语文。（书面表达常常需要）
I bought some books for myself, and others for my parents.我为自己买了一些书，为父母买了一些其它的东西。
The old lady often helps others.这位老太太常常协助别人。

四，another 还有，又，再

I have three sisters. One is a teacher, another is a doctor, and the other is a nurse.我有三个姐姐，一个是老师，还有一个是医生，剩下的是护士。
If you want a round-trip ticket, you have to pay another 80 dollars.如果你想要双程车票，你还得另付80美元。
Another two men came up. 又过来了两个人。
Let's have the party another day.我们改天聚会吧。
The students left the school one after another.学生一个接着一个地离开了学校。（固定短语）
Tom, Kate and I are good friends. We help one another in study. 汤姆，凯特和我是好朋友。学习上我们相互协助。（三者以上）
